Coord 37 - Punk

On the first day of the new year, we had a meet up called more than a couple of couples. It was supposed to be a meet for the couples of the community. lol. I was glad to get out of the house since we had a really low-key New Years eve ^^

Of course we went and did karaoke. I'm sure you know how much I love it, but I'm glad that I'm not the only one in my comm who does <3

Again my camera wasn't charged so I only got pictures before we parted for the night.

(left to right) Hina, Alys, Carol, Jessamyn, Becky, Pengu, Me and Samantha

And my coord. Went with punk since I finally got some red/black OTKs and a new lunch box purse. I love me some South Park. Hahaha

I had this coord planned a week or two before I wore it, which I don't do often. lol
How do you usually come up with your coords? Lots of planning or do you wing it?

Coord 27 - Punk

This is a coord I put together for a night out on the town. Me and my husband went out to eat and later met up our friends at a bar that was having karaoke. And I even had the courage to go up and sing a couple of songs. I felt like a rock star. lol

JSK: Bought from a girl in my comm
Blouse: Bodyline
Jacket: F21
Shoes: Secret Shop
Purse: ebay
I did my nails to match, though I tried plaid first and failed ><
I really like black, white and red together; and of course pandas <3

Birthday Coord

This year my birthday fell on a Wednesday (it's September 18th) so I decided to take advantage and finally attend karaoke with my husband's aunt and cousin since they had been inviting me for months.

I love karaoke. I do it all the time on my own (in my room, by myself) and with my family or close friends but I had never really done it in front of a room full of strangers. I knew I had to get over my fear and just do it and what better time then on my birthday in the fashion that has really helped me come more out of my shell.

My Coord for the night (had to go comfortable XD)
JSK / Blouse / Socks: Bodyline
Hair Accessory: Handmade

I was really nervous, and literally shaking when I finished, but I had so much fun. I've even been back a couple of times since then. I'm not completely over my fear of singing in front of people but baby steps. lol

Pengu's Bday

Back in July one of our members put together a meet up for her birthday at one of my favorite places, Genji's; which is a Japanese restaurant and karaoke bar. I didn't get many pictures since we were jammed pack in our room. But I was lucky to get these group pictures; unfortunately some of the other guests left before them so many faces were missing :(

Trying to give just a hint of cuteness
Back (L to R): Markie, Isabelle, Becky, and Me
Front (L to R): Alys, Hina, Pengu and Lillian
Ok, not sure how much longer we can contain our cuteness
Cuteness can't be contained anymore.....
Ohhhhh LAWD!!!!!!!!
I decided to not put my whole coord shot because to be honest I wasn't quite happy with it and my hair was a mess. I attempted to tease it so I could add volume and offset my huge headbow but after 30 minutes I admitted defeat and just left as is >< When am I going to learn that practice makes perfect? Seriously, practice everything you want to eventually do. Whether it be a hairstyle, make up or even singing. lol

And a bonus picture of the beautiful birthday girl.
 She's such a cutie and sweetheart <3

Well until next time.... Angel Brite

My very first ILD

As most Lolitas know, International Lolita Day is held twice a year. The first Saturday of June and the first Saturday of December
(so we can show off our spring and winter style). Since I started wearing the fashion in February, June 1st was my very first ILD ^^

When I first started talking to our community about doing something for the day, I was told that they usually forgot about it so they rarely did anything on that day. So I was a little disappointed and tried to bring up the issue as the time came near. Luckily one of our awesome members, the lovely and super sweet Becky took the initiative and put together a meet at our local museum. We had an impromptu meet there once before but it was very short since we only had 30 mins to look at everything; and this time we were also going to the butterfly exhibit <3

I tried to take pictures of our group as they started arriving but I'm sure I missed some of them >< Sorry!
(and another sorry in advance as a lot of my photos are blurry. I need a new camera :C)
I'm horrible with names so of course I forgot these lovely ladies' names but the one on the left came to support her friend (on the right) as this was her first meet :3
BFFs: Ivy and Vivian; These two are too cute <3 This was also their first "meet"
First timer Gabby and her boyfriend
The gorgeous Carol and Lillian
The ever so adorable sisters Hina and Alys
The cutest couple: Aaron and Becky (our lovely host). Seriously they are so cute ^^
After "everyone" got there we headed off to the butterfly exhibit
Look at all that walking poof
Obligatory group pictures before we headed in. Some people were missing
Being fascinated by the cockroaches they had
I didn't get a "coord" pic so hopefully this will do (look at all the pretty butterflies *^*)
JSK/Headbow: Baby the Stars Shine Bright
Blouse/Socks: Bodyline
Shoes: Secret Shop
Bag: Loris
 Charro the Iguana
Picture of the pretty waterfall they have inside
They also have butterfly shadows projected on the wall. So cool
 Another Group Photo
Top (left to right): Hina, Alys, Becky, Christina, Gabby, ? ( I feel horrible), Carol, Aaron
Bottom (left to right) Lillian, Me, Celeste, Isabel
Not sure if you knew, but we straight gangsta up in here. lol
Our "bee" family. lol
Kinda blurry but I like this picture
Lillian and Me
And before we all parted ways we took a few more group pictures since we had more people come ^^
Although I have not been a Lolita for very long this meet/day was very special for me. We had so many new faces and the excitement they all exuded reminded me of all the feelings I had at my first meet. I can't speak for them but when you're surrounded by so much gorgeousness; and I'm not just talking about the dresses but the people, it's hard not to be sucked in to this soft fluffy world. Plus it helps that the people in our community are so awesome. I really love HLC so much. Everyone has been so nice and made me feel a part of something so beautiful ;3;

After an awesome filled day with lots of wonderful frillies I really wanted to end the day with more happiness;
so when I got home I busted out my favorite thing ever. My karaoke machine <3
Awwww, yeaaaahhhhhh!!!! Karaoke Time!!
How did you spend your first International Lolita Day? I'd love to hear about it ^^
Until next time... <3 Angel Brite

May the 4th B with You

On May the 4th one of the girls from our community had a birthday party at a local karaoke/restaurant. I wasn't sure what I was going to wear when I woke up in the morning, but one thing that had stuck in my head was she had said a possible theme for it would be Star Wars due to it being
May the 4th (be with you).

So when I started to get ready for the day this is what I came up with. It's my take on Princess Leia if she was alive today.
Still all white but with black "punk" elements to it; like the spiked choker, boots and I even had my black star bag (but forgot to take a pic of it). I think she would be a kind of sweet bad ass. lol My skirt really isn't "Lolita" but I think the light petti underneath still gives it the nice shape Lolita is known for (and I don't yet have an official white Lolita skirt yet)
Blouse: Bodyline
Skirt: F21
Hoodie: American Eagle
All Accessories: Offbrand
(except my ring which is handmade)
Face Close-up: I braided my pigtails before I made them into buns
Of course when I arrived at the restaurant I ended up being the only one in Lolita and the only one in theme >< Total Fail! lol It's ok though because I am really happy with how my coord came out and looking at this makes me even miss my long hair a little. It was a really nice night and I even got sing a few songs. YAY!!! Plus the hubby was able to bond with a couple of the girls <3 Awesome night ^^ Love you Markie!!!
