Lolitaversary - My first year of frills

I know I said I wanted to catch up on my posts before my Lolitaversary came, but of course as usual I'm too lazy and am still behind. Though I still have a lot of catching up to do today is OFFICIALLY my Lolita anniversary. One year ago today I attended my first meet up and wore Lolita for my first time (blog post on that here).


It's a day that I hope I never forget and just thinking about it right now as I type this; my heart is starting to race again and that feeling that I felt that magical day seems to not be going anywhere soon. I've heard lots of stories about Lolita, both good and bad, but to be honest I feel that most of the good stories that I've heard I can relate to. I've met so many wonderful people through this fashion. It's also really helped me become more confident in myself and the things that I like and not worrying so much about others. Because really at the end of the day, I wear my clothes for me. Not for anyone!


I've always really loved dressing up. I used to find any excuse to put on something fun or themed. I even had themed parties so that I could dress up. I thought that I needed an excuse to wear something out of the ordinary, but finding Lolita made me realize that any day could be special. I didn't have to wait for an event or a party to put on something that made me happy; but I could do that anytime I wanted (as long as it was appropriate of course). Although I didn't wear the fashion right away just looking at pictures began inspiring me to experiment with the wardrobe I had. It took me a while to finally take the leap and wear Lolita, but I don't regret it one bit. It has become one of the best decisions I've made in my life in a long time. I know I probably sound really dramatic, but I do mean it.


I don't know what all this frilly fashion has in store for me or how long I will wear it (hopefully forever), but I do know how much joy I get out of it. It might not be something I can explain very well in words but when I put on all those layers (almost like armor), I feel unstoppable. I can do anything with a smile and can even fly if I try hard enough. I really can't say this enough but if Lolita fashion is something your interested in, but your worried about trying it out. I highly recommend it. Do not let your age, weight, sex, race or any other thing deter you from doing it. And while I might not have all the answers if you need anyone to talk to please don't hesitate to contact me. I will try my best to help or maybe I know someone who might be able to as well.


Can't wait to get home, put on my frills and take the town by storm.

Coord 33 - Houndstooth Punk

Another casual kinda punk coord for a day out. Went out to eat and stopped at multiple half price books looking for manga.

Punk is definitely my go to style when I want to dress "casual" but I always feel that my outfits aren't straight punk because they still have a sweet touch to them. Maybe it's just me though. What do you think?

Coord 31 - 32 Thanksgiving

Since I'm married I usually get to celebrate holidays x 2 *(^-^)* This is from Thanksgiving.

Thursday was spent with my husbands family and Friday with mine.

Here's what I wore to see his family. Since I'm not super close with them and I try not to "embarrass" my husband "very much" I went with all black (his favorite color) and kinda casual (I seriously had to fight the urge to wear a bonnet xP) Everyone still liked my outfit though. So that made me happy

Then on Friday since I didn't get to go all out the day before I decided to wear my husband's worst nightmare... SWEET LOLITA! Muahahaha

While I say that, he has gotten more comfortable with everything I wear. He just really hates pastels but I love them; so... :P

Coord 29 - Archery

With my Lolitaversary fast approaching I'm going to try my best to catch up on my posts (yeah, I know I say that a lot XD)


Back in the beginning of November me and my husband finally went out and used the Groupon we had bought for two hours of archery. We got there right before they opened, so we hadn't had breakfast and ended up leaving before our two hours were up because; well we were hungry and our fingers were hurting. lol. I was really hoping to be a natural and be all bad a** like Kagome but sadly I wasn't really great at it; though I did do better than most of the people next to us. It was still a lot of fun though and I hope we can do it again :)

While I really wanted to wear Lolita I decided to do a kinda casual punk coord since we weren't sure what all we would get into, which was a good idea because we ended the day at the park with our dogs.

I actually really like how it came out ^^;

Coord 28 - It's a Girl

My Little Sister is having a baby, so I dressed up for her baby shower in of course PINK!!! The socks I wanted to wear didn't come in in time so I tried to work with what I already had. I still liked the way it came out. I really like Sweet Lolita. It's the style I first fell in love with. I'd probably have a very pastel wardrobe by now, but since I was already married when I got into the fashion I ended up with lots of black and white because I knew it would be easier to ease my husband into and I really do love a good black and white combo. I have since started to add more pastels into my wardrobe and will definitely continue to do so ^^;

Coord 27 - Punk

This is a coord I put together for a night out on the town. Me and my husband went out to eat and later met up our friends at a bar that was having karaoke. And I even had the courage to go up and sing a couple of songs. I felt like a rock star. lol
